# ACH Payment Overview and Navigation

> Navigate the originated, incoming, and returns ACH data in the Treasury Prime Console, filter and search for transactions, and read ACH transaction details.

## Prerequisites

To view and navigate ACH transactions, you need:

* Access to the Treasury Prime Console with any Banker role
* ACH activity for the program you want to review

## About the ACH area

The **ACH** area lists every ACH transaction across the programs you can access, organized into several tabs:

* **Originated ACH:** Outbound ACH transfers sent on behalf of your programs.
* **Originated ACH Returns:** Originated ACH transfers that were returned.
* **Incoming ACH:** Inbound ACH transfers received into your accounts.
* **Incoming ACH Returns:** Incoming ACH transfers that were returned.
* **Flagged ACH (Needs Review):** Originated debit ACHs flagged for review that have not yet been marked as reviewed.

The **ACH** area opens to the **Originated ACH** tab by default. Use it as the daily reference for tracking ACH status, finding transactions, and reviewing transaction detail.

To act on a returned ACH, see [Return an ACH](/console-docs/return-ach).

## How to navigate the ACH lists

### 1. Open the ACH area

1. Log into the Treasury Prime Console
2. Click **Payments** in the left navigation menu
3. Select **ACH** from the payments submenu

### 2. Switch between ACH lists

Click a tab at the top of the **ACHs** screen to switch lists, such as **Originated ACH**, **Incoming ACH**, and others. Each row summarizes a transaction, including the counterparty, amount, status, and creation date. Click any row to open its detail page.

### 3. Filter and search the lists

Narrow a list using the filters above the table. The available filters depend on the tab:

* **Originated ACH** lists filter by source, service, status, direction, and created date.
* **Incoming ACH** lists filter by source, status, and created date.

To jump directly to a specific transaction, click the **Search** icon (magnifying glass) in the top right corner of the Treasury Prime Console and enter the ACH ID (e.g., ach\_1234567890abcde for an originated ACH, or inach\_1234567890abcde for an incoming ACH). Select the matching result to open its detail page.

## Read an originated ACH

Click a transaction in the **Originated ACH** or **Originated ACH Returns** list to open its detail page. The current status appears in the top right corner, and the page is organized into the following sections:

* **Summary header:** The transaction's key facts, including the counterparty, amount, credit or debit type, service (e.g., Sameday), description, and source.
* **Originating Account and Receiving Account:** The two sides of the transfer, including each account holder, account and routing numbers, and account or counterparty IDs.
* **ACH Details:** Processing details such as type, service, effective date, scheduled settlement date, SEC code, trace number, and related ACH IDs.
* **Addenda:** NACHA addenda records attached to the transaction, when present.
* **User Data:** Custom metadata associated with the transaction by the program.
* **Bank Data:** Internal metadata for the transaction, such as hold IDs.

**Note:** An originated ACH can be canceled while its status is still **Pending**. A cancellation banner appears at the top of the detail page when the transaction is eligible. To cancel an originating ACH, see [Cancel an Originating ACH](/console-docs/cancel-originating-ach).

## Read an incoming ACH

Click a transaction in the **Incoming ACH** or **Incoming ACH Returns** list to open its detail page. The current status appears in the top right corner, and the page is organized into the following sections:

* **Summary header:** The transaction's key facts, including the originator, amount, ACH type (e.g., debit or credit), company description, and effective date.
* **Originator Details:** Information about the sending party, including company name, company ID, financial institution, and trace number.
* **Receiving Account:** The account that received the funds, including account holder, account and routing numbers, and the incoming ACH ID.
* **ACH Details:** Processing details such as the original transaction ID, effective date, SEC code, transaction code, and exception type.
* **NACHA Body:** The raw NACHA record for the transaction.

## Troubleshooting

Common issues and solutions:

* **An ACH does not appear in a list:** Confirm you are on the correct tab for the transaction's direction (originated or incoming) and whether it is a return. Adjust or clear the filters, including the **Created** date filter, which may exclude recent or older transactions.
* **Cannot find a specific transaction:** Use the global search with the transaction's exact ACH ID. Verify you have access to the program the transaction belongs to.
* **Status has not updated:** ACH transactions progress through statuses as they process. If a status appears stuck or unexpected, contact Treasury Prime support.
